Shocked! Elevator Crash In Makati PBCOM Building

At 11 o'clock on the evening of March 5th, 2019, one of the landmark office buildings in Metro Manila, PBCOM (Philippine Bank of Communications Building), located on the Ayala Avenue in Makati CBD, was involved in a major accident. The elevator from the 53rd floor crashed into the 5th floor. Due to the late shift work of the office building, there were more people going up and down the elevator. There were more than 10 passengers in the elevator car.

In the accident, the elevator crashed to the fifth floor. During this period, the speed limiter of the elevator should be braked urgently, otherwise it would fall directly into the bottom of the elevator shaft. The disconnection of a safety switch leads to an emergency stop and then to the first floor, which may be a failure of the door lock device and a serious quality safety accident caused by friction during operation.
Now there is a serious safety accident in the PBCOM building. I hope that the relevant departments in the Philippines can supervise the elevator production and maintenance enterprises to conduct a thorough safety hazard investigation. I also hope that various corporate companies or building property companies can take the lead and face up. Solve this public safety problem .
